The Panhellenic community prioritizes the pursuit of an inclusive and diverse environment. We welcome all regularly matriculated female identified UCSB students to register for Panhellenic recruitment. We will never stop working toward making this space a comfortable and loving one for all who wish to be a part of it.
Through a mutual-selection process, potential new members (PNMs) have the opportunity to meet active chapter women and visit nine chapter houses. As the week progresses, both PNMs and chapters will narrow their choices. At the end of the week, bids to chapters are extended.
SPRING RECRUITMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
Spring Informal Recruitment is also know as Continuous Open Bidding, or "COB". Recruitment events are organized and coordinated by each chapter individually for the purpose of membership intake. Chapters may only participate in informal recruitment if their numbers fall below average chapter size on campus. Chapters are not required to participate in spring recruitment. Chapters typically hold a few events at the beginning of the spring semester to meet potential new members if they are eligible to conduct COB.

Joining a sorority is more than four years - it’s for life! This is a big decision and something you should consider seriously before signing your Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement on Preference Night.
This is your chance to get a little taste of each of our chapters! Each potential new member will get the chance to go inside and meet a few of the girls at each of the nine chapters participating in formal recruitment.
Attire is casual: shorts, a cute top, and flat sandals that are easy to walk in are encouraged
As the title suggests, this is the day you get to see the ins and outs of up to seven houses and see what living in might be like!
Attire is a little dressier: flat sandals are still okay but some choose to wear platforms or wedges. Skirts and rompers are encouraged.
After narrowing down your list to up to five houses, this is the day where you get to hear about each chapter's philanthropic foundation. You will get to stay at each house a little bit longer and learn about the charities and community service these chapters focus on throughout the year.
Attire is semi-formal: platforms, wedges, and heels are encouraged. Rompers, dresses, and jumpsuits are customary.
The final night of formal recruitment! This is the night where you get to return to one to two houses and talk to the girls on a more intimate level. This is the most formal night of recruitment and each house emphasizes the level of sisterhood that unites their chapter. This is the night where you get to make your final decision and choose which house you get to call home!
Attire is formal: dresses and heels are required. We ask for potential new members to refrain from wearing all black.
The most fun day of recruitment! This is the day where you will receive a bid from the house you get to call home for the rest of your college career! The girls are excited to welcome you into the chapter and have a full day of surprises in store!
Attire is very casual: jean shorts and comfortable shoes are encouraged
