The Panhellenic community prioritizes the pursuit of an inclusive and diverse environment. We welcome all regularly matriculated female identified UCSB students to register for Panhellenic recruitment. We will never stop working toward making this space a comfortable and loving one for all who wish to be a part of it.
Through a mutual-selection process, potential new members (PNMs) have the opportunity to meet active chapter women and visit eight chapter houses. As the week progresses, both PNMs and chapters will narrow their choices. At the end of the week, bids to chapters are extended.

Joining a sorority is more than four years - it’s for life! This is a big decision and something you should consider seriously before signing your Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement on Preference Night.
Welcome to Recruitment! This orientation serves to help the potential new members (PNMs) learn about and understand the recruitment process at UCSB. The Panhellenic Executive Council and other valuable speakers will talk about all the information needed to know regarding the upcoming week. After the presentations, PNMs will meet their Rho Gamma groups and have a social, which will be their first opportunity to meet future sisters, roommates, and friends!
During this round, PNMs will be introduced to UCSB Panhellenic life. With their Rho Gamma groups, PNMs will visit all eight participating chapters for 30 minutes each. This is your chance to get a little taste of each of our chapters and what living in might be like!
*After this round, PNMs will select their five most preferred chapters and their three least preferred in order; PNMs never “cut” a chapter.
PNMs will visit up to five chapters for 40 minutes each. Chapters will highlight the impacts their members, philanthropy work, and community service has on campus and larger communities, as well as the impact the chapter has had on its members. Chapters will discuss their financial obligation during this round, so PNMs are encouraged to ask chapter members about their sorority’s finances and any live-in requirements (some chapters require members to live in their house for at least one year).
*After this round, PNMs will select their two most preferred chapters and their three least preferred in order; PNMs never “cut” a chapter.
The final night of formal recruitment! Preference round focuses on the level of sisterhood in which unites their chapter as well as ritual. PNMs will participate in a chapter’s ceremony and get a glimpse of their ritual. This is the night where you get to make your final decision and choose which house you get to call home!
*After this round, PNMs will preference the chapter(s) they attend and sign the Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA), which will be explained to them during selections.
The most fun day of recruitment! This is the day where you will receive a bid from the chapter you get to call home for the rest of your college career! The women are excited to welcome you into the chapter and have a full day of surprises in store!
